Seat belt confirmation while Sign-out

1. Overview

The Seat-Belt Check on Sign-Out feature introduces an additional safety compliance step during employee deboarding.

As part of the manual sign-out flow, the driver is required to confirm whether the employee was wearing a seat belt at the time of sign-out.

This confirmation occurs before employee verification, ensuring safety capture without interrupting operational processes.

This feature is optional and can be enabled or disabled using configuration properties.

2. Functional Behavior

2.1 Trigger Point

  • The seat-belt confirmation prompt appears when the driver initiates employee sign-out.

  • The prompt is shown before any employee verification step (PIN/OTP/Contactless/etc.).

  • 2.2 User Flow (Driver App)

    1. Driver selects employee to sign out.

    2. Driver is shown a Seat Belt Status Confirmation popup.

    3. Driver records:

      • “Seat Belt Worn” or

      • “Seat Belt Not Worn”

    4. Only after the selection, the system proceeds to the standard employee sign-out verification flow.

  • 3. Configuration Controls

    3.1 Master Property

Auto Sign-Off DisabledManual sign-out flow must be used. Auto sign-off must be turned off for this feature to function.

    4. Dependencies & Compatibility

    • Supports manual sign-out only.
Auto sign-off overrides the flow and prevents seat-belt check from appearing.

    • Independent of other sign-in/sign-out methods (PIN, OTP, Employee ID, Contactless).

    • Works for all employee types (pickup and drop trips).

    • No impact on escort sign-out.

  • 5. Reporting Enhancements

The existing Seat-Belt Compliance Report will now include additional fields:

    Field NameDescription
Sign-In Seat Belt StatusCaptures seat-belt compliance at boarding time.
Sign-Out Seat Belt StatusNewly added; captures status at deboarding time.
Mid-Trip Employee ConsentIndicates if the employee changed seat-belt status mid-trip (where applicable).

These additions improve audit trails and allow end-to-end safety compliance tracking.
