Why is the "View Route" Option Not Reflecting?
One of the common queries we encounter is why the "View Route" option is not visible. To clarify, the "View Route" page is directly linked to a Trip ID and becomes accessible only when the trip is successfully initiated. If the "View Route" option is not appearing, the likely explanation lies in the trip status: "Trip Marked No Show."
Here’s how this situation arises:
Understanding the "Trip Marked No Show" Status
- Employee Sign-In Triggers the Trip Start: A trip officially starts when at least one employee signs in and confirms their participation in the trip.
- All Employees Marked as "No Show": If none of the employees scheduled for the trip are available—either because they did not sign in or were absent the system automatically marks all employees as "No Show."
- Trip Never Started: Since no employee was present to initiate the trip, it never commenced. As a result, the system updates the trip status to "Trip Marked No Show."
- Impact on the "View Route" Page: The "View Route" page is designed to display only for trips that have been started. In the case of a "Trip Marked No Show" status, there is no active trip data to show, and hence, the "View Route" option does not reflect.
Why Does the System Work This Way?
This behavior ensures accurate and meaningful trip data. The "View Route" page provides a detailed map and trip details, which are only relevant if the trip has been initiated and route data is available. For trips that are marked as "No Show," there is no route to display, maintaining the integrity of the information.
