Overview

The Marshal Feature in Rentlz is designed to assign a marshal (escort) to bookings automatically during specific hours to ensure safety and smooth trip management. This feature helps coordinate escort assignments based on time, gender preferences, and booking details.

Key Features

  • Automatic Marshal Assignment: Automatically assigns marshals during configured dark hours for applicable bookings.

  • Toggle Control: Enable or disable marshal requirement per booking with a toggle.

  • Customizable City and Booking Type Coverage: Configure which cities and booking types require marshal assignments.

  • City-specific Dark Hours: Different dark hour time windows can be configured for each city, according to organizational transport policies.

  • Gender-based Escort Assignments: Assign marshals automatically based on passenger gender and configured timing.

  • Trip Sheet Prepone: Trip sheets are preponed by a configurable number of hours when marshal assignment is enabled.

Configuration Details

1. Escort Assignment

  • Enabled for configured cities and booking types.

  • Assigns marshals automatically when conditions are met.

2. Disable Marshal During Day Hours

  • Marshals are disabled outside of configured dark hours (daytime).

3. City and Booking Type Customization

  • Cities: The feature can be enabled for specific cities or all cities.

  • Booking Types: Marshal requirement can be configured for specific booking types or all booking types.

  • Each city can have its own dark hours configured to align with local transport safety policies.

4. Automatic Escort Assignment

  • When a booking falls within the configured city’s dark hours and matches the booking type requiring marshal assignment, the system auto-enables the marshal toggle.

5. Gender-based Escort Assignment Configuration

  • For example, female passengers may require marshal escorts between specific night hours (e.g., 19:00 to 06:00).

  • Gender-specific escort times can be customized.

6. Trip Sheet Prepone Time

  • When marshal assignment is active, the trip sheet is preponed by a configurable number of hours (default is 2 hours) to allow for adequate preparation.

How It Works

  1. Toggle for Marshal Requirement

    • Available in the booking interface to manually enable or disable marshal assignment.

    • The system automatically enables the toggle based on:

      • The booking city and its configured dark hours.

      • The booking type configured for marshal requirement.

      • The passenger’s gender and the gender-based timing configuration.

  2. City-specific Dark Hours

    • Each city can have unique dark hours reflecting local safety regulations.

    • Marshal assignment only activates during those city-specific hours.

  3. Booking Type Filter

    • Marshal feature applies only to the booking types configured by your organization.

    • Bookings outside these types will not have marshal assignments enabled automatically.

  4. Trip Sheet Adjustment

    • Trip sheets for bookings with marshals assigned will be preponed by the configured hours (default: 2 hours).

Instructions for Users

  • Trip Sheet Timing: Bookings with marshal assignments will have trip sheets moved earlier by the configured prepone duration.

  • Marshal Availability: Active only during city-specific dark hours.

  • Toggle Control: Use the toggle to enable or disable marshal requirement manually, noting that the system may override based on configuration.

Feature Screenshots & Visual Indicators

This section walks you through key UI elements related to the marshal feature:

1. Female Passenger Indicator (Pink Bar)

  • A pink bar appears on the left side of the booking card or row to indicate that female passenger(s) are part of the trip.

  • This visual cue helps prioritize trips for safety measures like marshal assignment.

2. Marshal Icon on Booking

  • This highlights bookings where marshal assignment is mandatory or system-enabled.

3. Assigning a Marshal to a Booking

To assign or edit a marshal for a trip, follow these steps:

  1. Click the options (⋮) icon against the booking.

  2. Select “Assign/Edit Marshal”.

  3. Choose the Marshal Name and the associated Office.

  4. Once assigned:

    • The planned trip time is automatically preponed by the configured number of hours (e.g., 2 hours) to allow marshal pickup and coordination.

4. Marshal Details in Booking Panel

  • Once a marshal is assigned, their details are shown in the right-side Booking Details panel.

  • This includes marshal name, assigned office, and updated trip schedule.
